Montecatini Terme offers visitors rich pickings when it comes to Art and Culture. Be sure to take a walk through the centre of the town, and you will see art everywhere you look. From the many statues on display, to Montecatini’s version of Hollywood’s Walk of Fame on Viale Verdi. Bronze plaques proudly display the names of famous visitors, such as Christian Dior, Audrey Hepburn and Coco Chanel to name just a few. While walking don’t forget to look up at the amazing ornate buildings – artwork in themselves.
Teatro Verdi – Theatre
New Teatro Verdi is located on Viale Verdi, in the centre of Montecatini Terme. The theatre hosts a variety of shows and performances throughout the year ranging from Orchestras to modern musicals suitable for all the family.
Museum of Contemporary Art – MO.C.A.
The museum of contemporary art or MO.C.A. is situated in the Old Town Hall, on Viale Verdi in the heart of Montecatini. The museum opened its doors in December 2012 and has since displayed works by famous artists such as Pietro Annigoni, Joan Mirò and Banksy. The building itself is a work of art, with the exhibits being displayed in the old post office. The post office has been left relatively unchanged and remember to take note of the stained-glass windows depicting a communications theme by Italian artist Galileo Chini (1873-1956)
