Getting to Montecatini Terme by Car

To reach Montecatini by car use the highway/motorway, known in Italy as the Autostrada. The Autostrada is a toll road, so when you arrive you need to take a ticket (biglietto) from the machine. You pay when you exit the road, either by cash in Euros or Card.

From Pisa Airport join the Autostrada and head towards Florence (Firenze), exit the Autostrada at the junction signed ‘Montecatini. T’. The journey will take around 45 minutes, depending on traffic.

From Florence Airport join the Autostrada and head towards Pisa, exit the Autostrada again at the junction signed ‘Montecatini. T’. The journey will take around 35 minutes.

Hint! Don’t pass through the lane with a yellow sign TELEPASS, this is for locals who pay monthly. If you arrive at your destination without a ticket you are likely to be fined.
